Design Update…
The Horace Mann design and construction project is well underway in the Schematic Design phase. Over this past Fall, the project team organized several subconsultants to complete a site survey, test pits and borings to confirm the below ground conditions and much more. The results from these surveys are all good, yielding no subsurface issues.
The project team is currently working to advance the Schematic Design site and building plans and further develop the stormwater plans to work towards a vote of the Design Review Committee to petition the City Council to approve the site plan, anticipated for this winter. The schedule will have the design completed by early winter of 2025.
For those of you who missed the most recent DRC meeting on 12/13/23 you can review the presentation by clicking here, and you can watch the meeting recording here. Note that the meeting is quite long, but the Horace Mann presentation runs from the 1:00:00 mark to the 1:37:00 mark.
